Voices, These are brass tools with a cone on one end and an inverted cone on the other end. They can be firmly banged onto the ends of
the lead pipes on a church type, pipe organ, and altering the ends of the pipe, will tune the organ.

Not firmly banged down on the pipes, you let gravity drop them down onto the pipe top – using your hand as a guide. banging down on the pipes will result in damage at the mouth of the pipe or at the bottom of the pipe. As an organ builder I have two sets of these, one set of solid brass, and the modern set with wooden handles and heads that can be unscrewed which make them easier for transport.
